About Us
The inception and early days
SOLID SYSTEMS was established in 1989 as the first Intergraph Support Organization in the UK. Demands for SOLID SYSTEMS’ services grew so rapidly that the company's activities and areas of expertise soon expanded to envelop all of Windows platforms and major UNIX platforms (Hewlett-Packard, SUN, Fujitsu-Siemens, IBM, & SGI). Specialist support for DEC equipment was also being offered from those earlier days. At the same time, service volume for SOLID SYSTEMS’- printer and plotter division also increased, and to this day we continue to provide engineering support for all well known printer products.

With SOLID SYSTEMS’ wide range of expertise; the landscape for our sub-contracting business grew from within Europe and outreaching beyond the territory. Adding to our USA operations; established in the early days, SOLID SYSTEMS opened another major European office; strategically situated in Germany in the year 1992, and subsequently new offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, India, Australia, New Zealand,China, Spain, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Gibraltar, Guernsey, France, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Brazil were opened to extend to our customers greater geographical coverage for their contracts. With other European partners already on-board, we are justly proud of our global presence.
Today SOLID SYSTEMS provides sub-contracting services to a number of large support corporations; with whom SOLID SYSTEMS continues to enjoy very successful long-term relationships. If you haven't come across SOLID SYSTEMS in the past, it does not necessarily mean that one of our engineers has not appeared in one of your sites in the past 15 years.
From an office to a building
SOLID SYSTEMS moved to their new premises in Prime Enterprise Park in December 2002, after a grand opening ceremony culminating in the unveiling of a plaque by the Rt. Hon. Margaret Beckett, MP.
In 1993, SOLID SYSTEMS started supporting in countries beyond its origin (UK). In 2005 opportunities brought SOLID SYSTEMS to Africa, Middle East and South America. In 2006, Asia Pacific support coverage started growing rapidly.
Mission Statement
SOLID SYSTEMS’ core mission is to provide customers with an attractive and flexible alternative to the high costs of hardware maintenance usually associated with manufacturers' support contracts. We strive to provide savings of between 20 to 30%* compared to the cost of OEM providers.
* Where legacy UNIX systems are involved the savings are usually more dramatic.
Besides striving to help our customers with their bottom-line, SOLID SYSTEMS is committed to make their computing support experience with us an enjoyable one by providing superior standards in, technology knowledge support, quality services, flexibility in service provisioning, and friendliness, combined with fast respond time to all calls.

| Sybase has world wide SUN UNIX servers and workstations. For Europe the maintenance is done by Solid Systems Computer services Ltd. |
